Jasmine Itliong

As a graduate of San Jose State University, Jasmine found her passion of working in non-profit organizations dedicated to youths during one of her volunteer classes. Having both a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Communication Studies, Jasmine now dedicates her time and experiences to giving back to the community in any way she can, offering a helping hand wherever it may be needed, and supporting youths in all areas to overcome any barriers to reach their personal – and educational – goals. During her free time, Jasmine loves to try new food, explore new places, or binge-watch Netflix shows at home with her hyperactive pup.

Nardos Southwick
Program Coordinator
Nardos Southwick is a graduate of the University of San Francisco with a degree in International Studies and a minor in Politics. She brings a strong background in public service, program management, and community engagement. Her experience includes roles with Bay Area nonprofits – one of them being CYN! As an intern with CYN, Nardos evaluated program effectiveness through data analysis of the YPEE program. At the International Rescue Committee, she facilitated partnerships with local organizations to support refugees. As a Budget Intern at San Francisco City Hall in the Office of Supervisor Hillary Ronen, she assisted nonprofits with grant applications and conducted legislative research. Additionally, she worked in Washington, D.C., as a Policy Intern with the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute, conducting legislative analysis and supporting advocacy for children and families in adoption and foster care. These experiences have equipped her with skills in policy analysis, community outreach, and program coordination, which she is excited to bring to her role at CYN.

José Guadalupe Martinez
Youth Services Coordinator
Soon to graduate from UC Berkeley, José has developed a passion for community development and social justice through external engagement with the community while studying Chicanx/Latinx Studies and Political Science. His experiences range from local event development, community engagement, to public service to strengthen civil-communal relationships. Combining his passion for civic engagement and political theory, José aims to build proactive relationships that transform the status quo through ancestral understanding: in lak’ech. In his free time he also enjoys catching up on reading, adding to his CD collection, and watching Manchester United matches.
