Yvette Ramirez

Program and Administrative Manager

Yvette is a native of San Francisco’s Mission District. After graduating from Harvard with a BA in Sociology and a middle school teacher license, she has dedicated herself to working in research projects and non-profit organizations in the Bay Area and throughout Latin America. She has served as a volunteer in a wide variety of capacities including providing humanitarian aid to Central American refugees, teaching child workers basic literacy skills, and leading a research study to inform the creation of Ecuador’s first foster care system. Yvette is excited to work at City Youth Now and tackle various areas where she perceives a potential for growth and added structure. Outside of work, Yvette enjoys traveling and reading about early childhood and Latin American studies.

Shanel is excited to bring her skills in organization and program development to City Youth Now. As a recent graduate from Saint Mary’s College of California with a B.S.in Sociology and Women & Gender Studies, she has developed a passion for helping others reach their full potential. She has exhibited this goal through her continuous leadership positions with the Associated Students of Saint Mary’s College of California and over five years of participating within nonprofits. Shanel enjoys exploring the outdoors, catching up on current events, doing yoga and planning her future travels.
