Yvette is a native of San Francisco’s Mission District. After graduating from Harvard with a BA in Sociology and a middle school teacher license, she has dedicated herself to working in research projects and non-profit organizations in the Bay Area and throughout Latin America. She has served as a volunteer in a wide variety of capacities including providing humanitarian aid to Central American refugees, teaching child workers basic literacy skills, and leading a research study to inform the creation of Ecuador’s first foster care system.
