Our Youth Partnering for Education and Employment (YPEE) program integrates our educational support and vocational training services with activities and resources that prepare youth for gainful employment.

How it works

Youth are given guidance, support, and resources that will help them achieve their educational and employment goals. They are empowered to take ownership of their decisions and create a future they are proud of.

Examples of funding assistance include:
  • Textbooks and GED/SAT/ACT study materials

  • Tutoring expenses (single subject)

  • College tours

  • Interview practice and clothing

  • College application help and enrollment fees

  • Resume and Cover Letter development

  • Graduation expenses (senior portraits, cap and gown, prom)

  • Fee for California ID

  • Vocational school workshops

Paid Internship Program

City Youth Now is proud to provide a paid internship program for youth ages 14 and over. Working closely with various community organizations, agencies, and businesses, we place youth at internships that interest them and provide valuable work experience. Youth interns are paid hourly minimum wage for up to 110 hours of work, plus resume building and interview practice.

Youth decide which placement works best for them.

Eligibility: To participate, youth must be in foster care and/or on juvenile probation under the jurisdiction of San Francisco courts and must be 14+ year of age.

The wonderful sites who help our youth grow and learn include:
  • Sunset Youth Services

  • Potrero Hill Neighborhood House

  • Lemonade Yoga

  • Hamilton Recreation Center

  • United Playaz

  • Mission Girls

  • San Francisco Public Library

  • Family Dog Rescue

We also collaborate with Dress for Success to help outfit our young women for successful interviewing and employment.
