LIBRARY SERVICES

City Youth Now has been committed to establishing a strong Library
Program at Juvenile Hall.
Our "juve" librarian, Rachel Bernstein, spends time
each week with the youth in the library and on their living unitslearning about
their interests, suggesting titles for them, and keeping the books
circulating.
Recently, unit counselors have participated in library services and are leading book discussion groups, essay competitions, and making book suggestions for the collection.
Many of the youth in Juvenile Hall are voracious readers, but
for others this is their first chance to learn about the magic
that can be found between the covers of a great booka healthy
escape from the confines of Juvenile Hall.
