Camperships

Imagine growing up in San Francisco and never crossing the Golden Gate Bridge or driving down the peninsula to see the redwood trees, to breathe in the fresh mountain air, or exploring an undeveloped field.

City Youth Now's Campership Program provides young people in the foster care and juvenile justice systems the opportunity to attend residential summer camp programs and get out of the city, often for the first time.

Summer camp provides these children the opportunity to establish friendships, connect with positive adult role models, and be a kid!

City Youth Now pays 50% of summer camp costs for foster youth in non-relative placements and 75% of summer camp costs for foster youth in relative placements.

From mid-June through the end of August, City Youth Now will send over 100 children from the foster care system in San Francisco to residential summer camps throughout California.

Last spring, Anthony was able to attend basketball camp and loved it. With your organization's generosity this young man has had some very positive experiences at a critical developmental period. Margaret Walsh,
Deputy Probation Officer
