Zoo Mobile
City Youth Now sponsors visit by the San Francisco Zoo Mobile to the San Francisco Youth Guidance Center

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — May 15, 2007 — City Youth Now sponsored a visit by the San Francisco Zoo Mobile to the San Francisco Youth Guidance Center. The Zoo Mobile offers an up-close, hand on experience with live animals and corresponding lessons. The visit will focus on animal habitats —comparing animals that live in the desert, the rain forest, and the Bay Area. Zoo educator, Ken Pelto led two forty-five minute presentations where the youth had the opportunity to learn about global habitats, ask questions, and handle the animals. The youth had the opportunity to touch the animals and learn about habitat adaptations for survival. City Youth Now and the San Francisco Zoo will be teaming up for future projects including a Biodiversity unit at the YGC and Foster Youth Day at the San Francisco Zoo.
