Message from the President

Dear Friends,
2016 marked a very rewarding and successful 66th year for City Youth Now and the young people it serves. Under the guidance of immediate past President, Adriene Roche, our passionate and committed Board Members and staff, we were able to shift the source of our funding stream. City Youth Now has historically relied heavily on our generous donors including long-time individuals and families, notably the Coyne family. By instituting a systematic program of grant applications within our community, we were able to raise funds from a variety of new sources. In addition, we received a very generous grant from the City of San Francisco for $100,000. This current solid financial footing will enable us to have a more meaningful impact on the juvenile justice and foster care youth we support. We plan to increase the scope of our services by providing additional mentoring, coaching, tutoring and scholarships to the youth community we serve and who critically need our help.

In 2017 City Youth Now’s new Executive Director, Charles L. Mason Jr., and Program Director Audrey Rhodes will be overseeing the reorganization of our programs to more effectively serve youth and collaborate with our agency and community partners. We will be implementing a corporate partnership program with businesses located in San Francisco to raise awareness and work collaboratively with them in order to find the most effective ways they can participate in and support our programming. Giving these young people a shot at a real future is only possible with your help. The challenges of living in the Bay Area are mounting every day for our students and we can only change their trajectory by working together. Your donations are inspirational and can literally be life-changing. We deeply appreciate your support and encourage you to bring friends, co-workers and family when you join us at the City Youth Now gala scheduled for April 21st. Finally, our board, staff and volunteers welcome any and all ideas you have which will help us do a better job and serve our community in a more meaningful way. Thank you for all you do.

Best Regards,

Didier Perez
