According to the Department of Justice, "The link between academic failure and delinquency, violence, and crime is welded to reading failure." Over 70% of detained youth cannot read above the 4th grade level.

With your gift, City Youth Now will provide detained youth with books, fund literacy programs, and introduce young people, many of whom have never been in a public library, to the world of reading.

Your generosity will introduce many of the youth in Juvenile Hall to the magic that can be found between the covers of a great book-a healthy escape from the confines of Juvenile Hall. Be a part of sharing the world of reading with underprivileged youth today!
