Did you know that 85 percent of all juveniles who interface with the juvenile court system are functionally illiterate?

With your gift, City Youth Now will be able to fight illiteracy by sponsoring author visits to the San Francisco Juvenile Justice Center to encourage these youth to read.

Your donation will provide the 1400 youth that pass through the Juvenile Justice Center annually direct contact with a local or nationally acclaimed author who shares his/her story with the youth.

Your generosity will ensure that City Youth Now can sponsor authors who are able to relate to the youth and speak to them in a way that will have meaning and lasting impact on their lives.
