ABOUT US

Founded in 1950, City Youth Now continues to address the increasing needs of youth under the jurisdiction of San Francisco's Juvenile Court—including youth in the foster care and/or delinquency systems.

City Youth Now, located in San Francisco's Youth Guidance Center, was the first non-profit organization of its kind in the history of the United States Juvenile Court System.

Probation officers, social workers, attorneys, and others come to us almost daily with requests for youth under their supervision. These requests range from emergency clothing for a youth who is leaving Juvenile Hall with literally no clothes of his own, to tutoring or music lessons for a child in foster care. While these services may seem basic, they are essential for youth with nowhere else to turn.

City Youth Now provides for San Francisco's dependent and delinquent youth in the Juvenile System when no one else can or will.

Target Population
City Youth Now serves thousands of youth each year from throughout San Francisco. These youth are in the foster care and/or juvenile probation system, or have recently emancipated.
